Allagash Brewing Company

Pete Denoia, Supply Chain Director at Allagash Brewing Company, was honored with a Best in Brew Honors 2025 award for his leadership in supply chain operations and contributions to brewing excellence.
Pete embodies Allagash’s values, making the brewery more efficient, safer and a better partner to distributors.
Pete led a collaboration with graduate students in Data Science Studies at Northeastern University. The students could analyze and improve operations. The student teams explored topics such as dry vans versus cage routes, optimized cargo layouts, multi-stop routes across distributors and coordination with sales teams to maximize efficiency.
Their findings helped Allagash ship fuller trailers, reducing overall environmental footprint. Pete met regularly with the students to offer guidance and a real-world perspective, and the warehouse is now implementing many of their recommendations.
Pete also worked with Allagash suppliers International Paper to increase the number of modern cartons per pallet from 1,800 to 2,500 — and did this while preventing the need to add plastic and reducing plastic usage. That means more supplies on fuller trucks, reducing the overall carbon footprint with fewer trips while saving money.
As a member of Allagash’s safety team, Pete has been a vocal advocate for cross-departmental safety standards that keep employees safe. He also spearheaded the reduction in the number of cardboard can trays, saving 280,000 square feet of paperboard (33,000 pounds) annually.
By coordinating eight small-batch can orders across departments well ahead of release timing, Pete was able to gain efficiencies in pricing and get all cans to the brewery on full trucks.
Pete’s work ethic, positive attitude and constant push to do things better embody the spirit and values of Allagash.
