Beer Institute Partners with 96 Members of Congress to Curb Drunk Driving During National Impaired Driving Prevention Month

WASHINGTON, D.C. – To commemorate December as National Impaired Driving Prevention Month, the Beer Institute teamed up with 96 members of Congress – from both the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate – in its annual public service announcement (PSA) campaign urging Americans across the country to drink responsibly this holiday season.

Beer Institute Statement on USMCA Signing  

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Beer Institute’s President and CEO, Jim McGreevy, released the following statement after the United States, Mexico and Canada signed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA): “We’re glad to see the administration sign the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, a trade deal with our country’s largest trading partners. NAFTA was long overdue for review and update, and we appreciate all parties coming together to strike an agreement.

BEER INSTITUTE RELEASES OCTOBER 2018 DOMESTIC TAX PAID ESTIMATE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Beer Institute published an unofficial estimate of domestic tax paid shipments by beer brewers for October 2018: The October 2018 estimate is 13,564,000 barrels, a decrease of 2.9% vs. October 2017 removals of 13,969,000. Please note that the estimates reflect revised estimates released by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB).

BEER INSTITUTE RELEASES SEPTEMBER 2018 DOMESTIC TAX PAID ESTIMATE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Beer Institute published an unofficial estimate of domestic tax paid shipments by beer brewers for September 2018: The September 2018 estimate is 14,046,000 barrels, a decrease of 2.6% vs. September 2017 removals of 14,425,000. Please note that the estimates reflect revised estimates released by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB).

Beer Institute Applauds Senate Legislation Allowing More Oversight, Investigation into Aluminum Markets  

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Beer Institute released the following statement on Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) introducing the Aluminum Pricing Examination (APEX) Act (S. 3569), which would provide the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) the clear jurisdiction to conduct oversight – and investigate as needed – price reporting and price setting entities within aluminum markets.

Beer Institute Disappointed with Continued Aluminum Costs in Trade Deals

Statement from Jim McGreevy, Beer Institute President and CEO, that the United States will continue tariffs on aluminum following the announcement of a revised trade deal among the United States, Canada, and Mexico: ”It is disappointing that President Trump did not lift tariffs on aluminum as the United States, Canada, and Mexico announced a new trade agreement.

Beer Institute Names Senators Baldwin and Portman, Representatives Buck and Peters the 2018 Beer Champions
